A/Prof Robert Anthonappa is the Division head of Oral Developmental and Behavioural Sciences, and the discipline lead and program convener in paediatric dentistry at the UWA Dental School, the University of Western Australia. He has completed his Masters (Paed Dent), an Advanced Diploma in paediatric dentistry and Ph.D, from the University of Hong Kong. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and the International College of Dentists.
He heads the Paediatric Oral Health Research Group at the UWA Dental School, and has over 80 publications, comprising of scientific papers, in both national and international peer-review journals, and book chapters. His research interests include cariology, developmental defects of dental hard tissues, dental anxiety, oral health-related quality of life changes, hypominerlised teeth, eye tracking in dentistry, identification of genetic markers for dental and craniofacial anomalies, and evidence-based evaluation of the current treatment approaches in paediatric dentistry.
